Scope and Contents
The collection consists of materials acquired after Dr. Treves retired in 2011. They consist of general departmental correspondence, meeting minutes and reports as well as supporting documents in the establishment of new laboratories, applications and documentation for funding of a wide variety of studies, several subject files, and one piece of radiation monitoring equipment. Starting in the late 1970s, much of the division’s work was dedicated to research, especially in the areas of angiography and cardiac function measurement using Iridium-191.
Many of the files relate to studies on this topic and the development of clinical applications for the isotope. Another large segment of the records in concerned with Positron Emission Tomography (PET), the acquisition of PET equipment and the development of a laboratory
specializing in small animal imaging.
