Scope and Contents
The collection consists of Fish’s diary, passport, letters, photographs, nursing certificates, and other documents relating to Sarah Fish’s service in the Harvard Surgical Unit of the British Expeditionary Force at the No. 22 General Hospital in France. The collection also includes Fish’s nursing cap and Harvard Unit armband.

Biographical / Historical
Sarah Fish Woodworth (1889-1991) was a 1915 graduate of the Children’s Hospital Boston School of Nursing. In 1918, she served as a Nursing Sister with the Harvard Surgical Unit of the British Expeditionary Force at the No. 22 General Hospital in France.

The Sarah Fish Woodworth Papers were given to the hospital archives in June 2012 by Dr. Fred Lovejoy, who received them from Deborah Woodworth Edgar, a relative of Sarah Fish Woodworth.
