Series Description

From the Series:

Series I consists of appeal and bequest brochures, buckslips, campaign and event materials, correspondence, a donor book, flyers, memoranda, newsletters, press clippings, reports, and scrapbooks. The series contains materials from fundraising efforts as early as 1920, and documents early capital campaigns starting around 1947, when the Children's Medical Center Fund began. Other campaigns include “Give Life to A Child,” the REACH campaign, One For All Fund, the New Frontiers Program, The Children’s Campaign, and the WBZ Children’s Hospital Fund. One unusual scrapbook describes the exhibition of "Tatiana's Palace" in 1927. Other events include benefit sports events, and a house lottery. The long association between WBZ and Children's Hospital is documented by proposals, plans, correspondence, memoranda, lists, and printed information regarding the Holiday Fund telethon and related events. Plaques and memorials for donations received by the hospital are documented by year and by location in the hospital. The series is arranged in 5 subseries.
